Marry Us Michelle

Vibrant, joyful wedding ceremonies

Congratulations!

If you are looking at my website it’s quite possible you’ve found your forever person and are planning to make it official by getting married! Celebrating love is something I am incredibly passionate about. Corny? Yes, but I really do adore a good love story.

With a background working in media, communications and with the community, I am very much a people person and love meeting people from all walks of life.

I am equally happy rehearsing and performing in shows with the other fun seekers in my theatre group as I am exploring the great outdoors!

You may have lots of ideas already, or none whatsoever about how you imagine your wedding ceremony to be.  Together we can create a beautiful, engaging ceremony to suit you and celebrate your own unique story.

It is my absolute pleasure to guide couples through this amazing time and create and officiate for them on their day of days.  My aim is to make this time fuss free, stress free and of course have some fun along the way!

Weddings

Whether you’re planning a grand affair or an intimate gathering, I am dedicated to crafting vibrant and engaging wedding ceremonies tailored to your unique story. Get ready for a personalised experience that will make your special day truly unforgettable!

I am based in Perth, Western Australia.

Getting married further afield? Please get in touch, I would be happy to discuss.

I will create & implement a fully personalised wedding ceremony for you both containing your unique love story that is both fun and meaningful.

Once we have met (in person or over a video call) and I have received your Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) we can get on with the business of planning your ceremony!

I’ll send you resources to get you thinking about your ceremony, your biggest resource however, is me!

You’ll receive a questionnaire to fill out together (or separately if you prefer!) to help me get to know a bit about you and write your ‘love story’ to share with your guests during your ceremony.

With this information, and from our chats, this also allows me to add personal touches throughout your ceremony.

I have a professional PA system we will use and you can play your ceremony music through it.

In addition to your ceremony music, you’re welcome to create a 15-20 minute playlist to play while your guests are arriving to set the mood.

If you wish I can send your draft script for approval, or you may prefer a surprise! I am available for a planning meeting, calls, chats & emails. If you wish, we can hold a rehearsal at your venue (subject to availability)

$1100

Something a bit more lowkey, perfect if you are eloping or marrying at home and still want something unique, fun & meaningful.

We will meet once (in person or video chat) to sign your NOIM. When I’ve received your signed NOIM I’ll forward you some resources with tips & ideas to start thinking about your  ceremony. Again, your biggest resource is me!

Invite up to 20 guests, exchange personal vows and rings if you wish.
While a rehearsal is not included, I am available for chats & emails.

$750

In this ceremony we will just take care of the legalities of getting married. You can also exchange rings and we can still have some fun!

We will need to meet at least one month before your wedding date to complete the NOIM and then I’ll see you and your two 18+ witnesses on the day!

As this takes no time at all, we could meet at a café, your home or a park. If you are planning on celebrating with family & friends or just yourselves at a restaurant we could even meet there prior to the celebrations. The options are endless!

This is also a great option if you want a fuller ceremony with a friend doing most of the talking but require an authorised celebrant to step in and take care of the legalities.

$550

If you require a PA for the ‘Short & Sweet’ or ‘Registry Style’ ceremonies
$100

‘Short & Sweet’ – A rehearsal really isn’t necessary, keeping it natural and organic! However, if you feel you would like to have a rehearsal, we can certainly arrange it.
$150

With each of these ceremonies you will receive your Commonwealth Certificate of Marriage on the day. I’ll then prepare all your legal documentation and lodge it with the Registry of Births, Deaths & Marriages while you’re enjoying the first days of married life!

Our initial chat is at no cost and completely obligation free. If you choose me to marry you (and I hope you do!) I will require a Booking Fee of $400 to secure your date.

Balance fees are due 21 days prior to your ceremony.

Invoices, receipts & a Service Agreement are provided.

Pricing includes travel within 50kms of Como WA. Getting married further afield, additional fees of $0.78 per km are applicable.

Legals

I am a qualified civil celebrant registered with the Australian Attorney General’s Department. Therefore, I can solemnise marriage according to law in Australia.

To legally marry in Australia, there are several requirements and forms to fill out. I will guide you through all the way.

Firstly, a completed Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) form must be completed and given to me within 18 months and no later than one month prior to your ceremony date.

When filling out the NOIM you are required to list some forms of identification which I must sight. They are:

  • Proof of date & place of birth. Either your original birth certificate or passport (Australian or overseas).

  • A second piece of photo identification. Eg passport, drivers’ licence. If you provide your passport as your proof of date & place of birth, that’s all we need!

  • If either of you have been married previously, I will need to sight the divorce or death certificate.

Prior to the ceremony, usually at your rehearsal, both parties must sign a Declaration of No Legal Impediment (DONLI) to Marriage form. This form states that there is no legal reason why you cannot be married.

Monitum:
I am required to read this short passage from the Marriage Act which outlines the definition of marriage in Australia & states that I am authorised to conduct marriages.

Vows:
You are required to say a set of legal vows.

Paperwork:
You, your two 18+ witnesses and I will sign three marriage certificates. Two are the same. One I keep and the other I will send to the Registry of Births, Deaths & Marriages. The third certificate is a ceremonial one for you to keep.

Within 14 days I will lodge one of the marriage certificates, the NOIM and DONLI with the Registry of Births, Deaths & Marriages.

If either party is wanting to change their name(s) a registered marriage certificate from the Registry of Births, Deaths & Marriages is required. You can do this online and a fee is payable.

That’s it – you’re legally married!
